The Story & Vision Behind Collective & Co.
Collective & Co. is a founder-led jewellery brand established in South Africa in 2020, specialising in thoughtfully designed, delicate jewellery made for everyday wear. Built on the belief that beautiful jewellery should be accessible, versatile and part of real life, the brand has grown from a personal passion into a seven-figure business serving customers through its online store.
What began as a side-hustle, created around a full-time career in advertising, quickly became something more. For three years, I built Collective & Co. during evenings and weekends before taking the leap into running the business full-time in September 2023. Today, the brand continues to be independently run by me, its founder.
From jewellery design and creative direction to product selection, photography, marketing, website management and customer communication, I remain personally involved in every part of the business. I work with a select group of trusted industry professionals who support order fulfilment and shipping, allowing me to focus on the creativity, strategy and customer experience that define Collective & Co.
A South African Jewellery Brand with a New Chapter in the UK
In October 2024, my family relocated from South Africa to London following my husband's work transfer. Faced with the choice of closing the business I had spent years building or finding a new way forward, I chose to adapt.
That decision gave rise to the hybrid model that Collective & Co. operates today: a South African-founded jewellery brand managed remotely from the UK, with fulfilment and shipping supported by trusted industry professionals.
Now, Collective & Co. is entering its next chapter with the launch of a dedicated UK online store. The South African and UK stores operate as separate business entities, each serving its respective market, while sharing the same brand identity, creative vision and commitment to thoughtfully designed jewellery.
Expanding into the UK is a natural evolution of the brand — an opportunity to bring the Collective & Co. approach to a new audience while continuing to serve the South African customers who have been part of the journey from the beginning.
